Pam Buchmeyer tells her story for Outrageous Oral, Volume 19, January 28, 2016, in the Rose Room at S$ Nightclub. Outrageous Oral is a quarterly evening of poignant memories and stories from Dallas' GLBT past. The Dallas Way is committed to our mission to gather, store, organize, and present the complete GLBT history of Dallas, Texas.
Pamela Buchmeyer enjoyed a front row seat view of Dallas history as the daughter of the late great US District Judge Jerry L. Buchmeyer. Know for a series of hugely impactful civil rights decisions, Judge Buchmeyer reflected at the end of his life that his single greatest contribution to justice had been his decision in Baker Vs. Wade. Pam's father was also known for his marvelous sense of humor, a legacy which she hopes to continue. Pam is a writer, a lawyer, and an activist. The mother of two daughters and the wife of Ms. Shellie Crandall, a photo of the two women kissing in protest in front of Chick-fil-A gained international exposure.
